Purposes of Our Missions

1. To spread the good news of Christ to all mankind.
2. To demonstrate the love of Christ through acts of charity.
3. To financially help groups and/or individuals associated with our Christian churches/Churches of Christ for specified times and with specified minimum dollar amounts.
4. To maintain a close working relationship with all of our missions.

Guidelines for Missions support

Accountability - Each mission's work must be accountable to some overseeing organization.
Goals - There must be a stated mission or purpose for each mission which includes goals and plans to reach these goals.
Communication - There must be regular communication (preferably once a month) from the mission updating the status of their efforts, goals, needs, travel plans, and financial reporting.
Financial Reports - In order to evaluate the stewardship of a mission, regular financial reports covering income and expenses are required at least once a year.
Effectiveness - We try to measure how a mission carries out the "Great Commission" (Matthew 28:18-20). The difficulty of the mission field is always taken into consideration - we want to make sure that it is making a solid, lasting difference for Christ.
Evaluation - Each mission should be evaluated on an annual basis. Those missions that have clearly demonstrated effectiveness and adherence to these guidelines should be considered for higher levels of support.
