About Us
A church is not about buildings or programs – it’s people. As our community has changed over the years, BCC has become a diverse group from various ethnic, social and economic backgrounds. We’re learning to celebrate our differences and draw strength from the variety of styles and ages represented. Our convenient location makes it easy for people from most parts of Columbus to worship with us. We average 400 people worshipping with us each Sunday.
Some History
Beechwold Christian Church began in 1950 at the home of Merle & Martha Howson when believers gathered to pray about starting a new church on the north side of Columbus. The first official service was held in June 1950 at Indian Springs Elementary School. BCC has expanded and evolved with its community over the years, enlarging its facilities on Morse Road as well as launching five “sister” churches in our area, Tree of Life Christian Schools, as well as Worthington Christian Village (a retirement facility).
Our Style of Worship
Every church has a personality, and BCC is no different. We want “church” to be a fresh, new experience for everyone, whether you’ve been a Christian for years or are just beginning to search for God. At BCC you’ll discover…
…A New Atmosphere – relaxed, contemporary, diverse, genuine, inviting, refreshing
…A New Attitude -- passionate, empowering, aware, flexible, willing, caring
…A New Approach -- intentional, creative, urgent, outward, determined, relational
